"Offensive" avatars

Post by HarrySchlong » Tue Jul 06, 2010 7:44 pm

As requested, I've deleted my avatar, because some members allegedly found it offensive.
Given the nature of this forum, I find that a tad hypocrytical. :?

"Offence" is subjective; it's an emotion. We can't blame other people for our own emotions, especially when there was no intention of offence, as was the case with my avatar. I found the animated gif to be funny; Other people didn't, but that's subjective too.

I find it offensive that anyone should bother complaining about a simple animated gif, but I won't be registering a formal compaint, because I'm bigger than that, and I'm not going to get worked up over something so trivial.

This is not an apology; it's an explanation.

Hello Harry, I'm a mod and didn't find it offensive. Will look into it and let you know. Methinks a fellow mod has acted too rashly.

Cheers.
I won't use the same avatar though, out of respect. :)

I believe avatars should always be very tasteful & respectful!
The difference between ignorance and apathy? I don't know, and I couldn't care less.
